Electrical Design Services

Electrical Design

IAS delivers comprehensive electrical design services for control systems that support safe, reliable, and efficient operations. Electrical design often begins with P&IDs and project direction established during front-end consulting. Based on this information, IAS develops the design scope, which may include electrical panel design, motor control center specification, and instrument specifications. Our team designs electrical panels that contain PLC racks, motor starters, variable frequency drives, servos, safety circuits, and communications equipment. IAS specifies motor control centers and designs their connections to control systems and field equipment. We specify instrumentation such as level, temperature, and pressure sensors based on customer process requirements. Our systems integrators create detailed electrical schematics with close attention to installation efficiency and future technician troubleshooting. We review vendor proposals, manuals, and drawings to ensure components meet customer standards and are appropriate for the intended function, providing recommendations when improvements can strengthen system performance and reliability.

Once the design deliverables are completed, IAS compiles them into a complete electrical design package that also includes a bill of materials, phenolic tag lists, and installation instructions for the electrical contractors. This package enables bidding, procurement, and installation to proceed efficiently, with clear direction for all stakeholders.

AutoCAD Design

IAS produces accurate, build-ready documentation using a dedicated internal CAD specialist. Our drawing packages support installation, bidding, purchasing, and long-term maintenance. We develop the following drawing types to industry and customer standards:

Document Control

IAS manages drawing revisions and version traceability to ensure teams are always working from current, approved documentation. We update records as changes occur and enter the latest drawings into the customer’s document control system to support accurate installation, commissioning, and future maintenance. This disciplined document control process minimizes errors, maintains compliance, and preserves a reliable record for the entire system lifecycle.
